Experience

Illustrative Project Finance Experience

Our experience is grounded in the structuring of bank-aligned project finance frameworks, where lender risk mitigation and execution certainty are prioritised over instrument-led solutions.

The transactions outlined below are illustrative of the type of mandates and structures we advise on, reflecting our focus sponsor-backed support mechanisms and institutional bankability and on SBLC-enhanced credit frameworks.

Renewable Energy Portfolio – Southern Europe

Sector: Utility-scale solar
Estimated capex: €300 million
Structure: Non-recourse project finance
Role: Financial structuring advisory

We supported the sponsor in the design of a lender-focused financing framework for a multi-asset solar portfolio at shovel-ready stage.

The framework enhanced lender confidence during construction and facilitated alignment with senior debt providers toward financial close.

The structure incorporated a Tier-1 bank instrument issued as completion and early-stage risk support, backed by sponsor-owned eligible securities, integrated alongside standard project security and contractual mitigants.

Infrastructure Project – Transport & Logistics

Sector: Transport infrastructure
Estimated capex: €450 million
Structure: Limited-recourse project finance
Role: Structuring and risk mitigation advisory

Advisory support was provided in relation to the development of a complex infrastructure asset requiring phased construction and long-term availability revenues.

A tailored bank instrument for credit enhancement structure was integrated, to mitigate construction and counterparty risk during the initial operational period, supporting lender credit assessment and improving financing conditions.

Hospitality Development – Destination Asset

Sector: Hospitality / mixed-use real estate
Estimated capex: €180 million
Structure: Limited-recourse development finance
Role: Project finance structuring

We advised on the structuring of a destination hospitality project with a phased development profile and stabilisation period.

The financing framework included an insurance wrap package by Tier-1 worldwide insurance company to support risk mitigation during the construction and ramp-up phase, underpinned by sponsor-owned eligible assets, to address early cash flow volatility and completion risk from a lender perspective.

Energy Transition Project – Emerging Market

Sector: Renewable energy / energy transition
Estimated capex: USD 250 million
Structure: Project finance with enhanced credit support
Role: Structuring and lender alignment advisory

The mandate involved structuring a bank-acceptable framework for a renewable energy project in an emerging market jurisdiction.
